This brand new, prestige apartment and penthouse development in East Melbourne provides state of the art living to those fortunate enough to reside there. Panoramic 360 degree views from the developers own 12th floor penthouse including a magnificent and uninterrupted view of the Melbourne city skyline and beyond. However this view also exposes the west windows to the extreme afternoon sunlight which enters through the North West balcony and into the adjacent section of the apartment creating unbearable glare.

In need of a viable solution, Salta Constructions contracted Shading Systems to design, manufacture and implement a fully automated roller shading system to provide protection to this area. With many considerations including weather conditions, spanning of the 7.2 metre openings and ease of access / installation, the design was draughted and the details specified. The final product utilised a 140mm diameter roller, in conjunction with our exclusive LT (Lateral Tension) side channeling system and a sizable weighted base bar to enable the blind to hold up to the wind pressures inherent in this geographic location. The system uses Ferrari Soltis 86 fabric and both are individually powered by Somfy LT60 motors, operated remotely for both individual and grouped control. Both systems were installed by our expert “in house” installation team and were neatly finished off with matching powder coated covers and relief details to create a seamless and integrated aesthetic with the surrounding architecture.
