An automated retractable skylight system ideal for glazed or open areas, such as alfresco areas.

The Heavy Duty Skylight Awning also known as our Reflex™ Conservatory System is an automated retractable system for internal or external glazed or open areas. The system is ideal for applications such as residential skylights, or solar protection and light control to alfresco restaurant roofing applications in both vertical (walls) and inclined (roof) applications.

The system itself includes a preselected fabric element stored on an 80mm aluminium roller tube with an internally fitted tubular motor. The roller tube, motor and fabric are encased in a two piece cassette that is complete with mating cast aluminium end caps that are easily mounted to two aluminium side rails. The side rails support the hem rail that slides along via a sturdy four wheel assembly at either end of the hem rail. Located within the hem rail is the spring assembly that provides constant tension to the pull cord that leads off from either end of the spring out the end of the hem rail, along the side rail, around the sheave in the side rail end boxes and back up the side rail to spools fitted to either end of the roller tube. As the roller tube is driven the cord is wound on / off the spool with the internal spring maintaining a constant load and keeping the fabric element taut.

The Conservatory system can be powder coated from a wide range of available colours and the fabric element can be any of the screen or solid fabrics currently available that have sufficient mechanical strength to withstand the loads of the tensioning system.
